Volunteers are essential to the work we do so we are always looking for new volunteers to join our team at New Wortley Community Centre. There’s a wide range of volunteer roles available that can help you learn new skills, form new friendships and enjoy all of the benefits that come with being part of a community. Volunteering and meeting new people gave me a sense of purpose during a period where I was not doing much in my day-to-day life. It also gave me an outlet to do something I was good at and share it with others.
Every staff member approached me with kindness, respect and in a friendly manner. It was an absolute pleasure to work with such kind people every time I came into the centre.
The people in the centre were wonderful and it was nice to know my volunteering was going towards something good
